The Television Academy, based in the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood, California, is a nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating and empowering storytellers to push the boundaries of what Television can be. The only major organization fully representing the television and broadband screen entertainment industry, it is comprised of over 27,000 members, representing 31 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors and various other artisans, technicians and executives.

The Television Academy recognizes excellence among its peers with the Emmy award, culminating in the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast each fall. The Television Academy also produces several other awards shows and a variety of activities and events for its members throughout the year. These events are featured across the Academy's digital platforms and in its award-winning emmy magazine.

Established in 1959 as the charitable arm of the Television Academy, the Television Academy Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of television while educating and inspiring those who will shape its future. Job Opportunities

This is a full-time, exempt position based in North Hollywood, reporting to the Executive Director, Television Academy Foundation.

About the Role

The Television Academy Foundation seeks a strategic relationship builder to transform how individual donors, corporations, and foundations connect with our mission of supporting emerging talent and shaping the future of television. The Senior Director and Head of Development will lead the development team during an exciting growth phase, following the completion of a comprehensive strategic plan and development program review.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with the Executive Director to set fundraising priorities, goals, and overall fundraising strategy

  • Achieve a $2.5 million annual fundraising goal while building a robust pipeline for sustainable, increased support over the next 5 years

  • Design, manage, and grow major gift and institutional giving portfolios through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies tailored to donor interests and capacity

  • Identify and qualify prospects with the capacity to make major gifts of $10,000 and above

  • Serve as a catalyst for new connections and collaborations within the industry

  • Ensure all donor interactions reflect the organization's values and strengthen relationship momentum

  • Represent the Foundation with energy and enthusiasm to both internal and external constituencies

  • Serve as a liaison between the Foundation and the Television Academy to collaborate on donor pipeline development, marketing, and communications

  • Manage and mentor a development team of two, leading with urgency and inspiring creative approaches

  • Oversee development operations, ensuring leading practices are codified and data integrity is maintained

  • Maintain a master calendar of fundraising campaigns and events

Who You Are:

  • You believe fundraising is fundamentally about relationships, storytelling, and shared purpose

  • You are energized by building sustainable revenue streams while cultivating meaningful donor connections

  • You can translate organizational mission into compelling opportunities that place the Foundation at the center of the cultural conversation about the future of television

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive development experience with demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts of $100K+

  • Strong knowledge of development operations best practices with a proactive approach to deepening donor relationships and forging new ones

  • Skilled in creating compelling written and oral fundraising pitches, with credibility presenting to external audiences

  • Experience building strong relationships across all levels of an organization and externally

  • Proficiency with Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge/Raiser's Next or similar donor database software

  • Familiarity and interest in the television industry, media corporations, and corporate social responsibility trends (a plus)

  • Bachelor's degree in arts administration preferred

Compensation 

The expected salary range for this role is $150,000 - $165,000 and is based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education depending on experience. Summary of Position

The Television Academy is seeking a freelance Graphic Designer to support our creative team. In this role, you will help bring our brand to life through visually compelling designs across digital and print platforms. You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to produce high-quality graphics that align with our brand standards and engage our audience.

What You'll Do:

  • Quickly gain an understanding of the Television Academy brand and create designs that adhere to established brand standards

  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools to produce high-quality designs.

  • Design visually appealing graphics for social media, websites, and promotional materials.

  • Develop digital and print marketing.

  • Create logos, presentation decks, and other visual elements that align with our brand identity.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ year of proven experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role with a strong portfolio

  • Superior proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Polished communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stake holders

  • Excellent attention to detail, design aesthetics, and organization

  • Familiarity with creating and posting on social media (Instagram, Tiktok, etc.)

  • Working knowledge developing designs for both RGB and CMYK color space, understanding and troubleshooting gamut issues

  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment 

  • Entertainment industry experience preferred 

  • Familiarity with current television shows and talent 

What's Special About You:

  • Minimum Experience developing motion graphics and video editing very helpful (After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Maya, etc.)

  • Illustration abilities

  • Entertaiment industry experience

  • Non-Profit industry experience

Compensation
