About The Event

 

The Television Academy invites members and a guest to join us for a special Veterans Day event featuring three insightful panels about issues impacting Veterans and how television portrays each of these topics: Veterans in the Workforce (Re-entry), Combating Sexual Assault in the Military, and Health Care for Veterans.

Veterans Day: Television and the Military Experience

Panelists include:

  • Mikko Alanne, Showrunner, The Long Road Home
  • David Boreanaz, star, SEAL Team
  • Paula Coughlin, Former Navy Lieutenant; Helicopter Pilot; Board Member, Protect Our Defenders, Survivor
  • Kirby Dick, Director, The Invisible War
  • Tyler Grey, Producer/Technical Advisor, SEAL Team and Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran
  • Elizabeth Kristen, Pro Bono Attorney, Protect Our Defenders
  • Mike Royce, Co-Showrunner, One Day at a Time

  • World War II Combat Veteran Norman Lear
