The Television Academy, based in the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood, California, is a nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating and empowering storytellers to push the boundaries of what Television can be. The only major organization fully representing the television and broadband screen entertainment industry, it is made up of over 26,000 members, representing 31 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors and various other artisans, technicians and executives.

The Television Academy recognizes excellence among its peers with the Emmy award, culminating in the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast each fall. The Television Academy also produces several other awards shows and a variety of activities and events for its members throughout the year. These events are featured across the Academy's digital platforms and in its award-winning emmy magazine.

Established in 1959 as the charitable arm of the Television Academy, the Television Academy Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of television while educating and inspiring those who will shape its future. Job Opportunities

Senior Manager, Member Lifecycle

Position is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $85,000 to $95,000. The role reports to the Director, Member Lifecycle and offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, requiring three days in the office each week.

Summary of Position

The Sr. Manager, Member Lifecycle supports the development and execution of programs and lifecycle initiatives - focused on member engagement and retention. This is an exciting opportunity for a manager passionate about building and growing a national lifecycle program for 26,000+ members.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of select member programs, including member onboarding and engagement and retention initiatives. 

  • Develop and manage engagement and retention program plans by setting objectives, KPIs, timelines, budget and resources. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful, on-time execution while championing continuous program improvements through lessons learned and data captured.  

  • Oversee and manage membership volunteers by supervising recruitment, training, and volunteer participation in program activities. Ensure that all volunteer data is up-to-date, accurate, and in compliance with Academy policies and procedures. 

  • From concept to execution, support lifecycle drip campaigns working with cross-functional teams.  

  • Assist with the building and deployment of surveys to support new and existing programs.    

  • Write and edit marketing copy for membership campaigns across various channels. (e.g., member newsletter, emails, and website).  

  • Conduct market research on occasion for program initiatives.  

  • Pull, synthesize, and analyze data to generate actionable outcomes and create department reports.  

  • Participate in the planning and reporting of lifecycle initiatives.  

  • Integrate diversity and inclusion best practices across all member initiatives.   

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communication.  

  • Minimum four years in marketing, programs, or membership role in a B2B environment.  

  • Proven project management and digital marketing experience.   

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and report on data.    

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.  

  • Experience with Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.  

  • Working knowledge of survey software and CRMs a plus.   

  • Experience and / or exposure in the entertainment industry desired.

Marketing Manager, Social Media Content Creation

Position is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $68,000 to $72,000. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing & Digital Communications and offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, requiring three days in the office each week.

Summary of Position

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Manager to lead our social media initiatives for the Television Academy and Television Academy Foundation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, producing, and managing visually compelling social media content across multiple platforms. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produce highly-engaging visual assets and branding for various social media campaigns and content pieces including but not limited to:

    • Templates for standard posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Instagram Story

    • Infographics

    • Videos/Clips

    • Style Guides

    • Social Media Toolkits

    • Gifs/Instagram Story stickers

    • Memes

  • Video editing inclusive of clipping and/or adding captions, graphics and music as needed.

  • Content capturing on-site at various Television Academy and external events.

  • Video production utilizing existing and new content and ensuring all content is optimized for various social platforms.

  • Work with Television Academy Design Services team to ensure all assets are consistently on-brand and adhere to Academy guidelines.

  • Review and approve graphic and copy assets and layouts submitted on For Your Consideration (FYC), including but not limited to FYC invitations, collaterals, etc.

  • When needed, correspond with FYC partners regards optimizing assets for FYC needs.

  • Brainstorm creative content development initiatives with Marketing and Digital teams for emmy Magazine and Emmy-related marketing efforts.

  • Produce additional supplementary and creative content as needed.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the digital presence of the Television Academy and Television Academy Foundation through innovative and engaging social media content. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+years of professional experience producing creative static and video assets preferably for a brand or entertainment client.

  • Extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Solid experience with social media platforms and tools (specifically TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, Facebook).

  • High degree of self-motivation, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, exceptional attention to detail.

  • Works well with a team and with a range of creative people.

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience required.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in visual design and video editing software

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content optimization

Assistant Video Editor, Temporary

This is a part-time, temporary position requiring fewer than 30 hours per week. The hourly pay rate is $38.00. The role reports directly to the Director of Video Production and is an onsite position.

Summary of Position

The Television Academy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Video Editor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our constantly growing library of video media. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing backup, organization, and logging of raw and finished assets, as well as organizing and maintaining a backlog of assets that spans over a decade. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Media Asset Organization: Develop and implement strategies for efficient and secure storage, organization, and retrieval of video media assets. 

  • Backup and Archiving: Establish and maintain robust backup systems to ensure the safety and preservation of all media files, both raw and finished. 

  • Asset Logging and Metadata: Maintain a comprehensive logging system to catalog media assets, including relevant metadata such as titles, descriptions, tags, and timestamps. 

  • Media Retrieval and Distribution: Enable seamless retrieval and distribution of media assets, both internally and externally, ensuring appropriate access controls are in place. 

  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the integrity and usability of media files, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly. 

  • Workflow Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve media management processes to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and reduce duplication of efforts. 

  • Video uploading to Emmys.com. 

  • Video and photo editing as needed. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. 

  • Proven experience in assistant editing, preferably in a professional production or creative environment. 

  • Proficient in organizing and categorizing media assets with attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Familiarity with digital video formats, codecs, and industry-standard post-production workflows. 

  • Familiarity with Brightcove or other video player software. 

  • Proficient in Adobe Premier and Photoshop and Davinci Resolve. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. 

  • Solid understanding of data backup and archiving best practices. 

  • Familiarity with copyright regulations and intellectual property rights related to media assets. 

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
