Conchata Ferrell was an American actress.

Ferrell was an accomplished stage performer. Her role as April Green in the 1973 original off-Broadway production of Lanford Wilson’s Hot L Baltimore led her to Los Angeles and a starring role in the short-lived 1975 Norman Lear series of the same name.

Her other TV credits include One Day at a Time, The Rockford Files, The Love Boat, Lou Grant, St. Elsewhere, Matlock, Night Court, Who’s The Boss?, Murder, She Wrote, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Touched by an Angel, Friends, ER, Becker, and Grace and Frankie.

In 1992, Ferrell received her first Emmy Award nomination for her recurring role as attorney Susan Bloom in L.A. Law.

Ferrell was most recognized for playing Berta, the housekeeper, on all 12 seasons of Two and a Half Men, for which she received two more Emmy Award nominations for supporting actress in a comedy series.

She most recently appeared in a 2017 episode of Netflix’s series The Ranch.

Ferrell died October 12, 2020, in Sherman Oaks, California. She was 77.
