George Jenson was an art director and production illustrator.

Jenson began his four-decade career as a production illustrator and storyboard artist at 20th Century Fox Studios, working for producer Irwin Allen’s series Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants. He then moved to Filmation Associates, where he was a layout artist and illustrator on the television cartoons Star Trek: The Animated Series, Lassie’s Rescue Rangers, Mission: Magic! and My Favorite Martian from 1972-75.

Jenson worked as a production illustrator on live-action feature films including Escape to Witch Mountain, Logan’s Run, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Christine, Romancing the Stone, and Red Dawn.

Jenson received an 1984 Oscar nomination for visual effects on 2010 (with Roy Scheider, John Lithgow, and Helen Mirren).

Jenson died May 25, 2018, in Henderson, Nevada. He was 87.
