Gregg Rudloff was an American sound mixer.
In his first two years in the business, Rudloff worked on such hit films as Risky Business, Footloose and This Is Spinal Tap. His other early work included Prizzi’s Honor, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, Less Than Zero, and Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
A longtime collaborator with Clint Eastwood, Rudloff’s first job was for Eastwood on Honkytonk Man. They went on to work together on J. Edgar, Invictus, Changeling, Gran Torino, Letters From Iwo Jima, True Crime, Absolute Power, Flags of Our Fathers, and American Sniper.
Rudloff won Academy Awards for Mad Max: Fury Road, The Matrix, and Glory. He also was Oscar-nominated four other times, for American Sniper, Argo, Flags of Our Fathers and The Perfect Storm.
Rudloff won an Emmy for the 1985 miniseries An Early Frost (with Aidan Quinn, Gena Rowlands, and Ben Gazzara).
He most recently worked on the experimental Orson Welles film The Other Side of the Wind (2018).
Rudloff died January 6, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. He was 63.
