Hal Geer was an editor, producer, writer, and all-around animation legend. He spent four decades in the business, working for Warner Bros. and Disney.

Geer got his start as a combat cameraman during World War II, and then transitioned his skills into entertainment landing a job as a color technician in the special-effects department at Warner Bros. in 1946.

He worked on the television series The Flintstones, The Road Runner Show, The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour, The Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes Comedy Hour, and Frankenstein, Jr. and the Impossibles. He also contributed to a slew of movies, specials, and shorts made for television including Bugs Bunny’s Valentine, Bugs Bunny’s Looney Christmas Tales, How Bugs Bunny Won the West, and Daffy Duck’s Easter Show.

Geer was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1981 in the category of outstanding animated program for Bugs Bunny: All American Hero.

Geer died January 26, 2017, in Simi Valley, California. He was 100.
