John began his editing career at the University of Arizona, receiving a BFA in Media Arts. Soon after, he moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute where he received an ACE Eddie nomination in the Student Category along with his MFA in editing in 2001.
Including his time at AFI, John has worked on a wide range of narrative, documentary, unscripted, and docu-style programs for NBC, CBS, ABC, MAX, and numerous cable networks. John has worked on The Voice since it's premiere season in 2011 receiving multiple Emmy nominations as supervising editor. For the last twenty plus years, John has focused on editing unscripted programs such as The Voice, Big Brother, The Sing Off, The Hype, Legendary, and The Bachelor. The constant challenge of captivating an audience without the benefit of a traditional script has kept John motivated and engaged.
John is currently a member of the ACE Blue Ribbon committee and is committed to mentoring the new generation of editors and advancing the invisible art of editing in every way.
