Ken Hecht was an American writer and producer.

After graduating from the University of Miami, Hecht moved to Los Angeles in January 1969 to pursue his desire to become a comedy writer. His career took off quickly.

Hecht started out writing for the NBC game show Hollywood Squares. He went on to write for several star performers, including Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, and Bea Arthur.

Some of Hecht's writing and producing credits include The Tonight Show, Love, American Style, Sanford and Son, Happy Days, Good Times, Maude, What's Happening? The Love Boat, Alice, Three's Company, Diff'rent Strokes, Webster, and Full House.

Hecht received two Emmy nominations: one as a producer of Tony Randall's NBC sitcom, Love, Sidney, and the other for the short-lived drama series, American Dream, which Hecht co-created.

Hecht died March 21, 2022, in Tarzana, California. He was 74.
