Lena Dunham is the creator of the HBO series, Girls, on which she stars as Hannah Horvath. In 2012, she was nominated for four Emmy Awards for her roles in acting, writing, and directing the series, and won two Golden Globe Awards. In 2013, she took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress - Television Series, Musical, or Comedy for the role and the show won for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.
Dunham is also a filmmaker. She directed and was the lead in the independent film Tiny Furniture in 2010, which won Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest Music (SXSW) and Media Conference. The actress has a cameo in the movie Supporting Characters where she appeared alongside her Tiny Furniture and Girls costar Alex Karpovsky.
