Lupita Tovar was a performer best known for her role as Eva in the 1931 Spanish language version of Dracula.
The Mexican cinema actress also appeared in Santa; The Invader, with Buster Keaton; Blockade, with Henry Fonda; South of the Border, with Gene Autry; and The Westerner with Gary Cooper.
Additionally, Tovar had a role on the series Invitation Playhouse: Mind over Murder, in the episode “Winner Take Nothing.” She also appeared as herself in the documentary series Biography and Universal Horror.
Tovar was the mother of Imitation of Life star Susan Kohner and grandmother of screenwriters Chris and Paul Weitz.
She died November 12, 2016, in Los Angeles. She was 106.
