Richard D. James was an Emmy-nominated production designer and art director who worked on notable television productions. He served as a production designer on over 150 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and about 170 episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. James worked on the production design for television movies including "Breaking Home Ties" and "Little Girl Lost."

Richard served as an art director on series including Let's Make a Deal, Battlestar Galactica, Supertrain and ABC Weekend Specials. He was head of art direction for television movies including "Carousel," "Elizabeth the Queen," "A Christmas for Boomer" and "Stormin' Home."
