Robert Foshko was a producer best known for his work on the 1960s variety series NET Festival. In 1969, he was nominated for a primetime Emmy Award for the series, for the episode “The Rite of Spring.”
Foshko also worked as a production supervisor on the television series General Electric Theater, and as a writer on Tales of Tomorrow and The Unforseen. Additionally, he served as a producer on the series Diagnosis: Unknown, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Love on a Rooftop and the TV movie The World of Peggy Lee.
Over the course of his career, Foshko worked with Alfred Hitchcock, Jackie Gleason and Rod Sterling, among many others.
He later worked as a faculty member in the screenwriting and television department at the University of Texas at Austin, College of Communication, as well as the Michener Center for Writers, where he worked for three decades.
Foshko died May 3, 2015, in Austin, Texas. He was 85.
