Roberta Haynes was an American actress.

Haynes was raised in Toronto and moved on to California, where she acted on stage in productions of The Madwoman of Chaillot (with John Carradine) as well as The Fighter (with Lee. J. Cobb).

Her first two film roles came in 1949, when she appeared in Knock on Any Door (with Humphrey Bogart) and We Were Strangers (with John Garfield).

Haynes is best known for her role opposite Gary Cooper in the 1953 film Return to Paradise, where she played a native of Matareva who has a relationship with Cooper’s American drifter character.

An accident involving gunfire and explosions on a film set severely damaged her eyesight. She did not work for several years until operations restored most of her vision.

Haynes died April 4, 2019, in Delray Beach, Florida. She was 91.
