William J. Creber was an American art director and production designer.
Creber was best known for his work with the original Planet of the Apes franchise including the original 1968 film starring Charlton Heston as well as Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) and Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971).
Creber was nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Art Direction: The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), The Poseidon Adventure (1972), and The Towering Inferno (1974).
He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1966 for his work on the television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Creber’s other television credits include Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, and Mod Squad.
Creber died March 7, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. He was 87.
