Emmy Tally: Five
How She Got the Gold: As supporting actress in 2010 for Glee, as host in 2014 and 2015 for Hollywood Game Night, as actress in 2017 for Dropping the Soap and as guest actress in 2019 for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Now for the Noms: Lynch has been nominated 13 times as an actress, host and narrator.
Full-Circle Moment: “Stephen Colbert handed me my Emmy for playing Sue Sylvester on Glee. I knew Stephen all the way back from our Chicago Second City days, and it was really swell to have him present it to me.”
Backstage Hang: “My favorite part about the Emmy Awards is hanging out backstage with fellow actors. Some of them you know, some you’re just meeting for the first time. There’s camaraderie and real gratitude at this event. Look at us, all dressed up and hanging out at the Emmys!”
Strong Links: “A couple of things make The Weakest Link special. One is the contestants. They need to have their wits about them to perform well, and I love that they rise to the occasion. Even though I give them grief, I think they know that I’m there to support them. Secondly, my writers, Grant Taylor and Ann Slichter. We’ve been together since Hollywood Game Night. They make it so fun, and we’re a delightfully well-oiled machine at this point.”
