As Ellingson explains, special effects is far more than just car crashes and explosions. He calls it “art meets science.” He and his crew are responsible for weather effects, breaking windows, and other atmospheric elements - as well as explosions and crashes. And everything must be planned meticulously to make sure no one gets hurt.
