To celebrate Women's History Month, Catlett shared with us the women in television who have inspired his successful career.

Mara Akil, Girlfriends, The Game, Being Mary Jane
Mara Akil is a bundle of joy sat upon a hill. She is a pioneer who has blazed the trail for others to capture their dreams. In life, you're lucky if you get a chance to meet your destiny partners who understand that they hold the key to your next level and are willing to labor and labor in order for your dream to become a reality. Mara, you continue to inspire me.

Issa Rae, Insecure
I call her the ladder. My reason for such an honor is because she understands her platform and her destiny. She creates doors for others to walk through. She's been my door (we have worked together on previous projects) and I thank you for allowing me to continue to walk through.

Mary Lou Belli, Black Lighting
This giant of a woman has seen everyone and everything under the sun. History and artistry along with her deep gaze gives artists hope and the freedom to express their art. You are a museum and I am inspired by your exhibit.

Neema Barnette, Luke Cage, Black Lighting, Genius
"Print that sucka!" If you've ever worked with or will work with Neema in the future, then you understand the term I just mentioned. "Will, I got your rhythm." All the greats have a rhythm. Thank you for inspiring me and unlocking my rhythm.

Jeanine Daniels, That Guy, Snowfall
Her genius of creativity as a writer, actor and director inspires me. JD blessed me with my first job as a series regular on her hit show, That Guy. For an artist, it's a beautiful thing to not only be discovered, but seen. She saw me and I am forever grateful.
