Video Upload Specifications

Below are the specifications for uploading your video for Nominations, FYC, College Television Awards, Los Angeles Area Awards, Television Academy Honors, or Sneak Peek on our Viewing Platform. Please be sure your submitted video conforms to these parameters:

Video: 1920x1080 progressive
Codec: H.264
Bit rate: 6-8 MB
Audio: AAC, stereo, 192-320kbps, 44-48 kHz
MP4 format is preferred.
No added slates, timecodes, bars & tone, commercials or promos.

Audio Channel Requirements:
Content may be 2-channel stereo, or 5.1 surround. Please refer to the information below for reference for suitable ways of supplying audio tracks.

Stereo:

  • 1 stream with 2 channels

  • 2 streams with 1 channel each

5.1 Audio:

If uploading videos with 5.1, the audio must be in one of the following formats:

  • 2 streams, one with 2 channels, one with 6 channels

  • 1 stream, 8 channels (layout specified below)

  • 8 streams, 1 channel each (layout specified below)

5.1 Audio Channel Order:

5.1 audio MUST follow the channel listing below:

  • Channel 1 – Left

  • Channel 2 – Right

  • Channel 3 – Center

  • Channel 4 – LFE

  • Channel 5 – Left Surround

  • Channel 6 – Right Surround

  • Channel 7 – Stereo Left

  • Channel 8 – Stereo Right

Dolby Atmos Audio:

HDR Requirements:

SUPPORTED FORMATS
As described here, the input video files should be high-quality masters or mezzanines carrying properly color-graded HDR visual content and provided with all necessary metadata needed to describe HDR format being used.

Dolby Vision (DV)
To encode Dolby Vision output a Dolby Vision Mezzanine file is required as source. There are two common types of a Dolby Vision Mezzanine:

  • Dolby Vision MXF: A Dolby Vision MXF deliverable contains a J2K-MXF video track. It can have the Dolby Vision metadata interleaved or provided as a separate XML file

  • ProRes 422/422 HQ/4444/4444XQ with sidecar XML metadata file
