Adam Schlesinger was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and producer.
Schlesinger is best known for his work writing and co-producing the Oscar nominated title song for the movie That Thing You Do! (1996) as well as his contributions to music in television.
Schlesinger’s television composing work include various songs and scores for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Good Luck Charlie, SNL, Gossip Girl, My Name Is Earl, Kingdom Hospital, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, The Man Show, The Hills, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Melrose Place, Felicity, Roswell, and The Dana Carvey Show.
He was also a three-time Emmy winner for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his work on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2019, The 66th Annual Tony Awards in 2013, and for The 65th Annual Tony Awards in 2012.
Schlesinger died April 1, 2020, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was 52.
