Averill Perry was a technical director in television.

He served as technical director and worked on visual effects for ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1990-2017.

Perry received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Technical Direction/Camera/Video for a Miniseries or a Special for his work on four Academy Awards telecasts, bringing home the trophy in 1994.

He took home three consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards in 2010, 2011, and 2012 for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control for a Drama Series for his work on General Hospital.

Perry was paid tribute to in the closing credits of the October 4, 2017 episode of General Hospital.

Perry died September 13, 2017. He was 69.
