Bettina Gilois was a German-born screenwriter, author, and producer.
A graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in art history, Gilois worked at Andy Warhol's Factory on the television series Andy Warhol's Fifteen Minutes before kicking off her career in screenwriting with Joel Silver at Warner Bros.
She contributed to the penning of The Hurricane (1999) and The Mists of Avalon (2001), and wrote Glory Road (2006), McFarland, USA (2015), and The Lost Wife of Robert Durst (2017).
Gilois also served as a producer on the Nicolas Cage film Fire Birds (1990), and Amos Poe's Triple Bogey on a Par Five Hole (1991).
In 2015, she shared a nomination for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special for her contribution to the HBO film Bessie.
Gilois died July 5, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. She was 58.
