Glen A. Larson was the man behind some of the world's best-known primetime television series.
His highly successful productions included Knight Rider, The Fall Guy, Magnum, P.I., Battlestar Galactica, and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
Larson's style was family entertainment. Always humorous and tongue-in-cheek, his series had a consistent formula: accessible story lines, likable, charismatic lead characters, minimal violence, no foul language and well-crafted "motif"-laced soundtracks.
Larson was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1978 for his series Quincy, M.E.
Equally at home with action and science-fiction stories, he produced audience-pleasing fare for over 40 years.
Born in Long Beach, California, in 1937, Larson had a successful music career as a singer and songwriter for the 1950s' pop quartet the Four Preps before moving into television.
Larson died November 14, 2014, in Los Angeles. He was 77.
