Harry Falk was an Emmy-nominated director whose credits included dozens of popular series and made-for-television movies from the 1960s through the 1980s. He was also the former husband of actress Patty Duke.

The New York native broke into the entertainment industry as a property master and assistant director, and he eventually became a full-fledged director.

He met Duke when he was an assistant director on her hit series The Patty Duke Show. When they married, in November of 1965, he was 32 and she was 18. They divorced in March of 1970.

After earning his first solo directing credit on the Duke show, he went on to direct episodes of many other programs including The Doris Day Show, Get Smart, The Flying Nun, Love, American Style, The Courtship of Eddie's Father, Alias Smith and Jones, Hawaii Five-O, McCloud, Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law, McMillan and Wife, T.J. Hooker, The Colbys and Hotel.

His telefilms included Three's a Crowd, Men of the Dragon and Beulah Land, and his miniseries included Centennial.

He was nominated for an Emmy and a Directors Guild of America Award for a 1974 episode of The Streets of San Francisco. His other accolades included an NAACP Award for the 1981 TV movie Sophisticated Gents.

Falk died on April 29, 2016, in Santa Moinca, California. He was 83.
