Jack Webb was an American actor, television producer, director, and screenwriter, who is most famous for his role as Sgt. Joe Friday in the Dragnet franchise (which he also created).

He was the founder of his own production company, Mark VII Limited, which created successful television shows such as Adam-12 and Emergency!.

Webb has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for radio and the other for television.

Jack Webb was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1993.
