James J. Agazzi was an American art director and production designer.
Born in Joliet, Ill., Agazzi earned bachelor's and master's degrees in theater arts at UCLA, where he was set designer and assistant director on productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Once Upon a Mattress, and 110 in the Shade.
Agazzi served as art director on television specials hosted by Danny Thomas and Bob Hope, and variety shows hosted by Dean Martin, Andy Williams, and Bill Cosby.
He designed the original sets for Match Game and The Price is Right, and worked on many other game shows, including Tattletales, Card Sharks, Now You See It, and Classic Concentration.
Agazzi's other credits as art director and production designer include Starsky and Hutch, Sanford and Son, Square Pegs, Hart to Hart, and Moonlighting, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Art Direction for a Series in 1989.
Agazzi died September 15, 2019. He was 78.
