James S. Henerson was an American writer and producer.

He is perhaps best known for his work on I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, and The Flying Nun, penning multiple episodes for each series.

Henerson also contributed to writing Lassie, Combat!, Love on a Rooftop, and The Partridge Family, and wrote and produced episodes of Starman, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, and The Fire Next Time.

In addition to episodic television, Henerson scripted and produced several telefilms such as Mutiny, The Tempest, The Love Letter, Getting Gotti, To Save the Children, A Mother's Justice, The 500 Pound Jerk, For Love of Money, Intimate Agony, and For Lovers Only.

In 1980, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Limited Series or Special for penning the made-for-television movie Attica.

Henerson died June 18, 2020, in Sherman Oaks, California. He was 84.
