One of the most popular actresses of her time, Julia Roberts is known for such roles as: Anna Scott in Notting Hill, Anna in Closer, Shelby Eatenton Latcherie in Steel Magnolias, Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman, and as environmental activist Erin Brockovich in the film of the same name. Roberts recently portrayed Dr. Emma Brookner in the HBO television movie The Normal Heart. The film, which was directed by Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), follows the journey of gay activist Ned Weeks (played by Mark Ruffalo) as he strives to raise awareness of HIV/Aids during the early 1980's.

Throughout her career, Roberts has been the winner of one Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, three Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award and has received numerous award nominations. Her most recent critically-acclaimed role was that of Barbara Weston in August: Osage County, where she starred alongside Meryl Streep and reunited with My Best Friend's Wedding castmate Dermot Mulroney. The role landed Roberts nominations for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as well as a BAFTA and Golden Globe nomination.
