Katreese Barnes was an American musician, musical director, and songwriter.

Best known for her songwriting contributions on Saturday Night Live, Barnes also composed music for the television series People You Know (2014) and produced music for the films Magruber (2010) and Mean Girls (2004).

She was a two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Both wins were shared with her team at Saturday Night Live: the first in 2007 for the risqué song, “Dick in a Box,” while the second came in 2011 for the song, “Justin Timberlake Monologue."

Barnes was also an Emmy nominee in the same category for her work with the ESPY Awards in 2009.

Barnes died August 3, 2019, in Manhattan, New York. She was 56.
