Lena Headey is a British actress who currently stars as Cersei Lannister, the eldest child of Tywin (Charles Dance) and Joanna Lannister and the twin sister of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), on the Emmy-nominated HBO series Game of Thrones.
Headey made her film debut in with the role of Young Mary in Stephen Gyllenhaal's 1992 drama Waterland. From there, she dabbled in the television world, appearing on such shows as Screen Two, Spender, How We Used to Live, and Soldier Soldier.
Headey has appeared in a number of popular films, earning praise for her role of Queen Gorgo in 300 and in its sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire. She starred as Mary Sandin on The Purge, acting alongside Ethan Hawke and Max Burkholder, portrayed the role of Collette in the television series Band of Gold, and was cast in the lead role of Sarah Connor in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Headey's performance as Kaisa in Aberdeen, where she portrayed a successful London lawyer that lives her life in the fast lane, earned her a Silver Iris Award. Headey's additional film roles include The Jungle Book, The Brothers Grimm, where she acted opposite Emmy-nominated powerhouse Matt Damon, The Red Baron, and the Judge Dredd reboot, Dredd.
