Robert Klane was an American screenwriter, comic novelist and filmmaker, best known for writing feature screenplays including The Man with One Red Shoe (1985), National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985), and Weekend at Bernie's (1989).

Klane wrote for several TV series including M.A.S.H. and the sketch show Tracey Takes On, for which he won an Emmy Award for outstanding variety, music or comedy series.

Klane's directing work included Thank God It's Friday (1978) and The Odd Couple: Together Again, a 1993 TV movie that reunited Jack Klugman and Tony Randall, the stars of that 1970s sitcom.
