Sid Lubow was a sound editor best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on the action thriller telefilm Duel, starring Dennis Weaver as a commuter who is pursued and terrorized by a driver of a tractor trailer. The 1971 television movie was directed by a young Steven Spielberg and was also nominated for a Golden Globe.
Additionally, Lubow was nominated for Emmys for his work on the telefilm Short Walk to Daylight, the series Kojak and The Fantastic Journey, and the limited series V: The Final Battle and North and South.
He also contributed to the shows Naked City, Route 66, Hazel, The Donna Reed Show, Gidget, I Dream of Jeannie, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gomer Pyle: USMC, The Doris Day Show, The Waltons, The Dukes of Hazzard and the 1988 limited series The Bourne Identity, starring Richard Chamberlain and Jaclyn Smith.
Lubow died November 8, 2016. He was 93.
