Sound Editor

Stan Gilbert was an Emmy-winning sound editor who received 5 Primetime Emmy nominations during his career. His post production sound achievements include many of what would become culturally iconic series and films of the 60s, 70s and 80s. In 1976, he won his first and only Emmy for additional dialogue replacement sound with an episode of Medical Story.

He worked on adventure themed TV shows for the major studios, many of which had an emphasis on non-violent but exciting science fiction, underwater sequences with stories involving animals. Some of the old classics Stan worked on were The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Sea Hunt, Daktari, Lassie, Gentle Ben, Flipper and Clarence, the Cross-Eyed Lion. Other series he worked on include Space, Kung Fu, Police Woman and Medical Story.

Stan Gilbert also worked on many iconic films including the 1976 "A Star is Born," "Duel," "9th Configuration," "Brainstorm," the 1984 "Footloose," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Steel Magnolias" and "Dutch."
