Wayne Fitzgerald was an American title designer.

After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, he went on to work at Pacific Title & Art which did the main titles for various studios including Warner Bros., MGM, Fox, Paramount and Columbia. While there he worked on films such as Touch of Evil (1958), The Music Man (1962), My Fair Lady (1964), Bonnie and Clyde (1967), and Rosemary’s Baby (1968).

After launching his own company, Wayne Fitzgerald FilmDesign Inc. in 1968, Fitzgerald went on to work on such films as 9 to 5 (1980), National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983), Footloose (1984), Sixteen Candles (1984), The Breakfast Club (1985), Basic Instinct (1992), Wyatt Earp (1994) and Kingpin (1996).

In television, Fitzgerald worked on Maverick, The Beverly Hillbillies, Mr. Ed, It Takes a Thief, Night Gallery, Columbo, McMillan & Wife, Knots Landing, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Dallas, Matlock, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and many others. He won a Primetime Emmy in 1987 for NBC’s The Bronx Zoo, and two Daytime Emmys for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful and The Guiding Light.

Fitzgerald served two terms on the Television Academy's Board of Governors, representing title designers.

Fitzgerald died September 30, 2019, in Whidbey Island, Washington. He was 89.
