Yellowstone: By the Numbers

Catch up with the Duttons before their final season premieres on November 10.

The Duttons are (finally) back.

Yellowstone's fifth and final season is coming November 10. With the landmark Paramount Network show finally set to conclude, the Television Academy has compiled some of the numbers generated by the series and its prolific creator, Taylor Sheridan, over the years.

2: Number of years between the first half and last half of the show's fifth and final season.

2013: The year when series creator Taylor Sheridan first began developing and pitching Yellowstone.

47: Number of episodes that have aired as of press time.

5: The number of Yellowstone spinoff series (so far).

2: Number of those spinoffs that are prequels (1883 and 1923).

2: Number of contemporary sequels in the works (The Madison and a series centered on the vast West Texas 6666 ranch).

$500,000: Kevin Costner's reported episodic fee for the show's first season.

12.1 million: The number of cumulative viewers who watched the Season 5 premiere on Nov. 13, 2022.

11.474 million: Number of viewers, across Paramount Network and other Paramount cable channels (CMT, TV Land and Pop), that watched the midseason finale of Yellowstone's fifth season, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data.

2: Yellowstone's rank among all scripted shows in 2023, trailing only a January 29 episode of CBS's Fire Country.

6.83 million: The average number of viewers for Yellowstone's CBS season one premiere.

September 17, 2023: The date when CBS began airing Yellowstone's first season, which had debuted on the Paramount Network more than five years earlier.

5.5 million: Number of international viewers who tuned in for Yellowstone's debut on Netflix in mid-January.

$78,003: The average cost of a 30-second ad during a five-year-old Yellowstone repeat on CBS last fall. AdAge says this made it the 11th most costly primetime network show for advertisers.

5: References to Sheridan and his shows in the typical Paramount global earnings report

6: The number of Yellowstone characters taken to the "Train Station" (that we know about) This remote canyon setting is a no-man's land across the Montana border where the population is zero. That's where Yellowstone's powerful patriarch, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), sends troublesome folks he never wants to see again.

Yellowstone returns November 10 on Paramount Network.
