What inspired you to seek a career in television?
All of my life, I loved to tell stories. I am inspired by audiences, and my desire to build a connection with them. Television is a unique medium because you are able to build a relationship over a series, which is part of the reason I love it."

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
As a kid, I'd often write up my own adventures based on children's TV shows, which led to a lifelong habit of daydreaming up stories at school. Alongside storytelling, bonding over TV led me to some of my best friends, and even helped me come out (thanks Schitt's Creek!). What most inspires me are shows that make people feel seen and can change minds, all while also making them laugh. Television's impact on me made it clear that it was the career path I wanted to pursue, to pay forward all it's done for me.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I was inspired to seek a career in television by a representative I met during a career fair at CalArts. When I shared my dreams and goals of working in television, she encouraged me to explore the possibilities behind the camera and the importance of connecting artists with the right opportunities. This sparked my passion for helping others pursue their careers in television and sharing my love for the industry."

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
During my first year of college, I took a Mass Communications elective where we dissected TV shows and films while relating their meanings to the real world. I always knew I wanted to pursue something in the communications realm after this and I was drawn to TV for its plethora of story arcs and plot points. Films are great, but they have a finite ending. I'm a fan of the intricate details, evolution of characters, and mind-blowing cliffhangers that hook you to a TV show until the end, and I want to be one of those inspirations that creates such a feat."

My first glimpse into the industry was actually when I was in 5th grade when I was picked to go on The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a Kid Inventor. I was deeply fascinated by the interworkings of what it took to create an episode of television. My passion for a career in the film and television industry only grew from there!"

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
Growing up, I was entranced by shows like Mad Men, The Sopranos, and The Leftovers, which transported me to places and circumstances I had and will never specifically experience, but explored the very real human condition of people navigating their struggles with themselves and the world, grounding these powerful stories in quiet and personal conflicts: Whether in fantastical or mundane settings, there is something universal about watching broken people strive to repair themselves, fail, and try again. I was also further inspired to seek a career in television by creators such as Ava DuVernay and Linda Yvette Chávez, whose works both focus on authentic and multifaceted portrayals of communities not used to seeing themselves on the screen, and also elevate the very medium they use. Seeing them succeed in telling these narratives motivates me to continue further in my career.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I was more of a film girl when it came to what I wanted to do with my life; I always wanted to make movies, while TV was something I could do, but movies were my true passion. I had respect for TV and loved watching it, but it just didn't give me the same feeling as making a movie. Recently, I had a professor for my TV pilot and drama writing class who worked on many TV shows, some of which I watched growing up, and he instilled in me a real love for creating TV. His influence shifted my mindset from film to TV, and his impact has really stuck with me.

I discovered just how much television had influenced me when I wrote my first prose story, and it read more like a pilot episode than a novel. What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I have been an avid television-watcher since I was a kid. Before streaming took off, I would spend my time watching clips of my favorite TV shows on YouTube, piecing together the storylines as I went. In the absence of easily accessible full episodes and seasons, I got to create as I watched; these characters became active in my mind, and I learned how to craft a story between expansive narrative gaps. Television has always been a part of my life, but it took me learning more about myself and paying attention to the ways in which I interacted with this medium to realize that my passion, creativity, and drive belong in television.

The first movie I really fell in love with was The Sound of Music, something clicked in my head when I saw it for the first time. My family, PBS Kids, and history books (strangely enough) have cultivated and nurtured my love for television. My family’s enthralling, multi-generational chronicles have instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling at a young age; the layered plot points and overarching themes of their passed-down stories have even influenced me to view time through seasons — like literal TV seasons. Character-driven narratives and educational content like Arthur, Maya & Miguel, and WordGirl helped me make sense of the world around me growing up. I continued to indulge in never-ending stories with my ardent love for history by reading, writing, and daydreaming about the travels and epics of the human race.
