Shaping the Future of Entertainment,
One Leader at a Time
The Bob Bennett Future Leaders Program cultivates and empowers the next generation of leaders in the media and entertainment industry. This selective program provides ten (10) aspiring summer interns with a unique opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge, skills, and experiences that are essential for thriving in the dynamic and competitive world of television and digital media.
Participants in the program receive mentorship from industry professionals, access to exclusive networking opportunities, and additional training in various aspects of media management and leadership. Through specialized workshops, networking sessions and immersive learning experiences, participants develop a deep understanding of the industry's trends, challenges, and opportunities. Participants also receive support for intern housing and transportation.
Television Academy Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the Robert M. and Marjie Bennett Foundation for their generous support in establishing this program.
Internship finalists will receive information on applying in their notification email.
Requirements:
A 350-word essay showcasing demonstrated leadership and innovation in your personal, academic, and/or work life.
A brief summary of what leadership and innovation in the television industry mean to you.
A letter of recommendation from an individual who has been impacted by your leadership. Note: This letter must be different from the one submitted with your initial internship application.
Pick an interview from the Foundation's archive featuring an individual who inspires you. Devote at least thirty minutes to viewing the interview and write a paragraph outlining the reasons why you choose that individual.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience in a professional setting, academic group, professional development group, or everyday life.
Shown ambassadorship within their school and/or community
ABOUT BOB BENNETT AND THE ROBERT M. BENNETT AND MARJIE BENNETT FOUNDATION
Robert M. Bennett was a legendary broadcast executive who rose from success in several local markets — most notably at WCVB-TV in Boston — to become president of Metromedia Broadcasting, progenitor of Fox Broadcasting. For his contributions to the field, he received the President's Award of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), and in 1994 he was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 1994.
