Requirements for Membership

Producers

Please note that requirements (as outlined below) must be met within the four (4) years preceding one's application for membership or membership review; also, such requirements apply in each instance to the production and/or distribution of nationally exhibited audio visual works. All episodes should be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes in length unless defined otherwise specifically for short form programming. Credits from self-published programs alone do not qualify for membership in the Television Academy. Individuals who have received a Primetime, Daytime, or Children's & Family Emmy Nomination, specific to this peer group, within the past four (4) years are eligible for Active membership.

Active Status

Employment in one or more of the following positions for a minimum of two (2) years within the last four (4) years and screen credit as EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, SUPERVISING PRODUCER, PRODUCER, PRODUCED BY, LINE PRODUCER, EXECUTIVE IN CHARGE OF PRODUCTION, COORDINATING PRODUCER, PRODUCTION MANAGER, PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, CO-PRODUCER, SENIOR PRODUCER, SEGMENT PRODUCER, FIELD PRODUCER, STORY PRODUCER, POST PRODUCER, or TRANSMEDIA PRODUCER on at least:

Two (2) long form programs defined as a television movie or special running one and one-half (1.5) hours or more in length.

Or ten (10) episodes of scripted programs (drama, comedy, sketch, variety or documentary), either half-hour or one hour in length, produced for television.

Or twenty (20) episodes of non-scripted programs (game, talk, reality, etc.) produced for television.

Or at least one hundred twenty (120) minutes of professional short form programs that have had broad domestic or verifiable international consumer release. Short form programs shall have an average content length of twenty (20) minutes or less.

In all cases, individuals must take responsibility for significant producing responsibilities in the initiation, coordination and supervision of the creative, and financial elements through all the phases of production. Production values must be equivalent to network quality and have wide verifiable distribution.

Or a pro rata equivalent combination of any of the above criteria.

Or A qualified body of work relevant to the peer group that warrants a waiver of the above requirements. Body of Work designation has all benefits of Active membership with the exception of running for Peer Group Governor.

Associate Status

Any person employed in one or more of the above positions for a minimum of one (1) year and screen credit on at least:

One (1) long form program defined as a television movie or special running one and one-half (1.5) hours or more in length.

Or three (3) episodes of scripted programs (drama, comedy, sketch, variety or documentary), either half-hour or one hour in length, produced for television.

Or three (3) episodes of non-scripted programs (game, talk, reality, etc.) produced for television.

Or at least sixty (60) minutes of professional short form programs that have had broad domestic or verifiable national consumer release. Short form programs shall have an average content length of twenty (20) minutes or less.

Or

Any person on the Producers team who has had primary employment in one or more of the following verifiable positions for a minimum of one (1) year and screen credit as ASSOCIATE PRODUCER, PRODUCTION COORDINATOR or a like screen credit on at least:

Two (2) long form programs defined as a television movie or special running one and one-half (1.5) hours or more in length.

Or ten (10) episodes of scripted programs (drama, comedy, sketch, variety or documentary), either half-hour or one hour in length, produced for television.

Or twenty (20) episodes of non-scripted programs (game, talk, reality, etc.), either half-hour (1/2 hour) or one (1) hour in length, produced for television.
 
Or

At least one hundred twenty (120) minutes of professional short form programs that have had broad domestic or verifiable national consumer release. Short form programs shall have an average content length of twenty (20) minutes or less.

In all cases, individuals must take responsibility for significant producing responsibilities in the initiation, coordination and supervision of the creative, physical production and/or financial elements through all the phases of production. Production values must be equivalent to network quality and have wide verifiable distribution.
 
Or

A pro rata equivalent combination of any of the above criteria.

Location Managers subgroup

Active Status

Employment for a minimum of two (2) years within the last four (4) years and screen credit as LOCATION MANAGER on at least:

Four (4) long form programs defined as a television movie or special running one and one-half (1.5) hours or more in length.

Or twenty (20) episodes of scripted programs (drama, comedy, sketch, documentary or variety series), either half-hour or one hour in length, produced for television.

Or forty (40) episodes of non-scripted programs (game, talk, reality, etc.) produced for television.

Or at least two hundred and forty (240) minutes of professional short form programs that have had broad domestic or verifiable national consumer release. Short form programs shall have an average content length of twenty (20) minutes or less.

In all cases, individuals must take responsibility for significant producing responsibilities in the initiation, coordination and supervision of the creative, physical production and/or financial elements through all the phases of production. Production values must be equivalent to network quality and have wide verifiable distribution.

Or a pro rata equivalent combination of any of the above criteria.

Or a qualified body of work relevant to the peer group that warrants a waiver of the above requirements. Body of Work designation has all benefits of Active membership with the exception of running for Peer Group Governor.

Or at least one hundred twenty (120) minutes of professional short form programs that have had broad domestic or verifiable national consumer release. Short form programs shall have an average content length of twenty (20) minutes or less.

Or

Employment for a minimum of one (1) year and screen credit as ASSISTANT LOCATION MANAGER on at least:

Four (4) long form programs defined as a television movie or special running one and one-half (1.5) hours or more in length.

Or twenty (20) episodes of scripted programs (drama, comedy, sketch, documentary or variety series), either half-hour or one hour in length, produced for television.

Or forty (40) episodes of non-scripted programs (game, talk, reality, etc.), either half-hour (1/2 hour) or one (1) hour in length, produced for television
