Emmy statuette photography as a design element

Emmy Statuette Layered Image

PSD

EMMY STATUETTE PHOTOGRAPHY: The Emmy statuette image may be used as a design element but should not be used as, or misconstrued for, the Television Academy's logo mark or the Key Art Emmy. The Emmy photograph can be cropped tastefully, but may not be manipulated. The statuette must always be accompanied by the registration mark ® and "©ATAS/NATAS" must appear in small print somewhere on the page. (This is the only instance where the abbreviation "ATAS" may be used.)

LEFT VERSUS RIGHT FACING: For legal and identity purposes, we prefer the statuette faces left. However, there are occasions in which the layout may require the statuette to face right. In such instances, approval must be obtained from the Television Academy marketing department.

SPLITTING THE IMAGE: Do not split Emmy across the gutter of a spread in a magazine, divide her into pieces for a gate-fold, or place across a series of banners. Doing so inevitably loses a portion of the image and denigrates the statuette.

OVERLAYING/INTERSECTING THE IMAGE: Do not place graphics/design elements on top of the statuette image or intersecting the statuette image.

Emmy Mark for Ads

ZIP

Different from our company mark, this logo can be used by Emmy winners and approved external sources in advertising, marketing and publications. For consistency, the statuette always faces left. It can be used in gold, black or white depending on the publication. It cannot be altered in any way, and the registration mark must always accompany the statuette.

Using the Television Academy Name

Our organization's formal name is Television Academy.
Always capitalize the first letter of both words.
Do not capitalize "the" which may appear in prose (e.g. "members of the Television Academy...") or refer to us as "TV Academy", "The Academy" or "ATAS".
When referring to the Website, write TelevisionAcademy.com
No "http://" or "www." should be included. Always capitalize the first letter of both words.

Using the Emmy Name

The word Emmy is trademarked and should appear as "Emmy®" for its first use in a document or layout. Thereafter, in repeat usage on the same page or layout it may appear as "Emmy."

Emmy winners may at any time refer in advertising and publicity to the fact that they have won a Primetime Emmy Award. Emmy winners may use a replica of the statuette in advertising for up to one year after an award is given. All references must be specific to the show/category for which the award was given.
